Projects
CITRI will deliver a number of projects around our
core theme, and both members of the committee and the
public are invited to participate in the process of
defining new projects.
Current projects on the agenda include:

Core Infrastructure – This is the backbone
network that connects one city and town to another,
which provides the physical access to the Internet,
along with international links to other countries.
This will provide Iraq with a high speed, resilient
Internet connection.

Implementation of Internet Access and Education
Centres – These centres will initially be located
in major towns and cities, and be available to members
of the public, providing access to the Internet,
training and education.

A Skills Exchange – CITRI will be organising
an academic and commercial exchange program, whereby
staff from Iraqi companies and institutions will
come over to the west to work with leading companies
and universities. Upon their return, they will be
able to take best practice with them, and be better
able to implement the new knowledge economy.
